Quick Start — Fives
Twelve minutes and you'll know enough to walk on a court. The 3-minute intro, labelled court diagram, simple doubles game, and the unwritten rules.
How to play Fives
- Watch the 3-minute intro video to understand the game and how a rally works
- Learn the court: front wall, two side walls, the step, the buttress, the ledge, and the hole
- Understand serving: delivered from the step, must hit the front wall above the service line, lands in the right-hand half
- Understand scoring: only the serving side scores; receivers win a hand-out, passing serve to the other side
- Play to 15 points, best of three games, changing ends after each game
- Learn the etiquette: call your own faults, acknowledge good shots, shake hands at the end
