Free Eton Fives Lesson Plans for Schools

Free Fives lessons for schools3 complete Fives lessons for PE teachers, free. Each runs 60 minutes for up to 16 pupils on 1–2 courts, with phase-by-phase timings, teacher cues, drill diagrams, differentiation and an assessment tick-sheet.

Year 7 Week 1 — Lesson 1: Introduction to the Court. First contact with the court. Pupils learn the shape of the game — where the walls, steps and the buttress are — then hit their first strikes and build to a short cooperative rally. No scoring, no serving: just touch and confidence.

Year 7 Week 2 — Lesson 2: Ready Position & Rally. Builds from last week's first strikes into movement: a proper ready position, moving to the ball, and longer rallies.

Year 7 Week 3 — Lesson 3: First Serves. The serve arrives: an overarm, friendly delivery off the front wall, a simple return, and the first guided points.
